Case IH 1067-08 - ITBV – ITBV: Service Brake Sensor Abnormal frequency, pulse width, or period

The control module is receiving an erratic, out-of-range, or missing signal from the brake pressure sensor when the service brakes are applied or released, preventing the system from confirming that the trailer brakes are responding correctly.

   Inspect the brake sensor wires for chafing, corrosion, or pinching, and ensure the connector is tight and free of moisture.

   Verify that the brake pedal is not mechanically sticking or binding, and ensure there is no air in the brake lines that could cause erratic pressure readings.

   Perform a static sensor calibration: with the air/hydraulic system charged and the key ON, press the brake pedal firmly and hold it for 5 to 20 seconds, then release.

   Prepare the tractor

   Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the ignition.

   Locate the sensor

   Locate the service brake pressure sensor (typically mounted on the ITBV pneumatic valve block or near the brake pedal assembly).

   Disconnect the harness

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the sensor.

   Remove the faulty sensor

   Unthread and remove the faulty brake pressure sensor from the valve block/line.

   Install the new sensor

   Install the new replacement sensor and tighten it to the OEM torque specifications.

   Reconnect the harness

   Reconnect the electrical wiring harness.

   Turn on the ignition

   Turn the ignition to the ON position (engine off).

   Perform sensor calibration

   Perform the brake sensor calibration procedure by pressing and holding the brake pedal firmly for 5 to 10 seconds.

   Clear fault code and test

   Connect a diagnostic scan tool to clear the 1067-08 fault code and test the service brakes to ensure the code does not return.
