Case IH 1067 – EDC (Electronic Draft Control) Module: Hydraulic valve supply voltage - voltage too low
Issue description
The control module is detecting insufficient voltage on the circuit that supplies power to the Electronic Draft Control (EDC) hydraulic valve solenoids. This typically points to a wiring issue, a failing solenoid drawing too much current, or a power supply issue from the controller.

Check the cause
Verify system voltage to ensure the tractor's battery and alternator are providing proper voltage (12-14V)
Check the fuses and relays that supply power to the hitch control circuit and the EDC module
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the EDC/Armrest controller and the hitch control valve for chafed wires shorting to ground, pinched wires, or corroded pins
Perform a voltage drop test by disconnecting the harness at the EDC hydraulic valve solenoids, turning the key ON, and measuring supply voltage at the connector
Measure the resistance of the raise and lower solenoids on the hitch valve to check for an internal short pulling the circuit voltage down
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Turn off the battery disconnect switch or disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical spikes.
Repair Wiring
If the diagnostic checks revealed a damaged harness or corroded connector, splice in new wiring or replace the damaged connector pigtail.
Locate Valve
If the wiring is intact but the solenoid failed the resistance test, locate the EDC hitch control valve at the rear of the tractor.
Remove Solenoid
Remove the retaining nut holding the faulty solenoid coil to the valve stem.
Install New Solenoid
Slide the old solenoid off and install the new OEM replacement solenoid. Torque the retaining nut to the specification listed in your specific model's service manual.
Reconnect Harness
Reconnect the electrical harness to the solenoid.
Reassemble and Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery and turn the key ON. Clear the stored fault codes from the controller.
Perform Calibration
Perform the Hydraulic Lift Autocalibration (EDC Calibration) procedure. Follow the H-Menu or display prompts to recalibrate the hitch limits and draft pins.
