Case IH 1068 – Transmission Controller (FPS / CVT Transmission) or EDC (Electronic Draft Control) / Armrest Control Module: Height limit control not set to maximum during calibration

During the Electronic Draft Control (EDC) or transmission calibration procedure, the system requires the rear hitch height limit rotary knob (potentiometer) to be turned to its absolute maximum position. If the system detects that the knob is not maxed out, it aborts the calibration and logs this code. On specific newer heavy-duty platforms (such as the Case IH Magnum 235–340 Series 4), code 1068 can alternatively mean: 'EDC calibration aborted due to tractor moving during EDC calibration'.

   Monitor Potentiometer Readings (Sensor failure cause): Enter the tractor's diagnostic 'H Menu' and check the live displayed potentiometer reading during calibration to see if the module is actually registering the knob's movement.

   Check for Accompanying Codes (Hardware/Wiring cause): Look for related armrest codes such as 18018 (voltage too low) or 18019 (voltage too high). If present, this indicates a wiring or sensor failure rather than a procedural error.

   Prepare for calibration

   Park the tractor on a level surface, apply the parking brake, and ensure the engine is running at the specified RPM for calibration (usually a low idle, refer to specific model manual to avoid code 1069).

   Locate the rear hitch height limit control potentiometer on the armrest console. Turn the rotary control completely clockwise to its maximum limit.
