Case IH 1069 – Transmission Controller (MTA CCM & APH STAGE V MR) or Armrest / Command Arm Module (ARM / XCM - Multi-function CM): Bone raise/work switch error

The system has detected a failure, illogical state, or signal interruption from the raise/work switch (transmission bone) used to control the Electronic Draft Control (EDC) or hitch raise/lower functions.

   Enter the tractor's diagnostic H-Menu to monitor the live state of the switch. Navigate to the EDC switch channels (e.g., Channel 41 or 42 on some models) to verify if the controller sees the switch state change when it is released vs. depressed.

   Check the wiring harness and connectors associated with the Multi-Function Handle and the EDC Raise/Lower Switch (often designated as connector X868 or X094). Look for open circuits, shorts to ground, or shorts to battery voltage.

   Verify that the external rear fender raise/lower switches are not stuck or being operated simultaneously, as conflicting signals can sometimes trigger EDC switch errors.

   Access the Switch

   Disassemble the necessary trim on the armrest/command arm console to access the Multi-Function Handle and the raise/work switch pod.

   Test Continuity

   Disconnect the switch connector (e.g., X868) and use a multimeter to test the switch for proper continuity in both the 'Raise' and 'Work' (lower) positions.

   Inspect the Harness

   If the switch tests good, back-probe the harness to check for continuity between the switch connector and the Armrest/Transmission controller pins. Repair any chafed or broken wires.

   Replace the Component

   If the switch fails the continuity test or is physically broken, replace the switch or the integrated Multi-Function Handle assembly.

   Recalibrate

   After replacing the switch, clear the fault codes. You may need to perform an EDC / Hitch calibration procedure to ensure the controller recognizes the new switch inputs and full hitch travel limits.
