Case IH 1070 - UCM – UCM / CCM: Hydraulic ram configuration not set
Issue description
A software and calibration-related condition indicating that the control module's EEPROM does not have the correct hydraulic lift ram size programmed or saved for the Electronic Draft Control (EDC) system.

Check the cause
Check power history to determine if the tractor's battery was recently disconnected, replaced, or if the module lost power, which can cause the EEPROM to reset.
Verify Electronic Draft Control (EDC) status to check if it is functioning or if it has been disabled due to the missing configuration.
Repair steps
Connect the special diagnostic tool (Part Number: 380000843) to the tractor's diagnostic connector.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.
The dot matrix display on the instrument cluster will show 'HH MENU' to indicate that the configuration menu has been activated.
Use the 'dimming' or 'menu' button to navigate through the HH menus until you reach the Electronic Draft Control (EDC) configuration channel (often Channel 2).
Use the 'h' and 'm' buttons (or the navigation 'up' and 'down' keys, depending on the specific cab layout) to toggle through the options and select the appropriate hydraulic ram size for your specific tractor model.
If the appropriate ram size is not selected, fault code 1070 will continue to be shown.
To save the desired option, depress and hold the navigation 'up' or 'down' key (or the 'm' button) until the instrument cluster bleeps.
The beep indicates that the selection has been successfully saved to the EEPROM.
Depress the 'menu' or 'dimming' button to continue navigating or to exit the HH menus.
Cycle the key switch off and back on to verify the code has cleared.
