Case IH 108 – Armrest Controller: Aux 1st remote valve LEVER potentiometer is failed in the Armrest Controller

The potentiometer (sensor) that detects the physical position of the 1st auxiliary remote valve lever on the armrest has failed, shorted, or is sending an out-of-range voltage signal (either too high or too low) to the controller.

   Check the physical movement of the 1st remote valve lever to ensure it moves smoothly and returns to the neutral position without binding.

   Check for fault codes related to the other remote levers (e.g., 109 for the 2nd remote, 110 for the 3rd remote); if multiple are present, suspect a shared 5V reference or ground wire failure, or a failure of the Armrest Controller board.

   Open the armrest console and inspect the wiring harness and the specific connector going to the 1st remote lever for pinched wires, static discharge damage, or loose pins.

   Swap the electrical connection of the 1st remote lever module with the 2nd remote lever module; if the fault code changes to 109, the lever potentiometer is bad, but if it remains 108, the issue is in the wiring harness or Armrest Controller.

   Attempt to recalibrate the remote valves via the display monitor to see if the controller can relearn the potentiometer's voltage range.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect battery power to prevent static discharge or shorting during repair.

   Access the Armrest

   Remove the retaining screws and lift the top cover/panel of the armrest console to expose the electro-hydraulic remote (EHR) lever modules.

   Disconnect the Module

   Locate the 1st remote lever (typically color-coded, often blue for the 1st remote) and disconnect its electrical wiring harness connector.

   Remove the Lever

   Unbolt or unclip the faulty lever potentiometer assembly from the armrest mounting bracket.

   Install the New Part

   Seat the new lever module into the bracket, secure it, and plug in the electrical connector.

   Reassemble

   Reinstall the armrest cover and restore battery power.

   Mandatory Calibration

   Perform an SCV (remote valve) calibration using the tractor's display monitor (e.g., Pro700) to allow the Armrest Controller to learn the new potentiometer's minimum, maximum, and neutral voltage positions.
