Case IH 1084 – ATC (Advanced Tractor Control): EDC is configured with one draft pin but connected to the left side. (CCH Only).

Mismatch between the tractor's software configuration and its physical wiring. The Electronic Draft Control (EDC) system is programmed to expect only a single draft pin sensor (which defaults to the right-side circuit as the primary input). However, the controller is detecting a sensor signal or connection on the left-side draft pin circuit.

   Verify physical build by looking at the lower link arms of the rear 3-point hitch to determine if the tractor is equipped with one draft pin sensor or two.

   Check software configuration using the tractor's display (e.g., AFS Pro 600/700) or CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to verify if EDC is set to 'One Draft Pin' or 'Two Draft Pins'.

   Inspect harness connections on single-pin setups to ensure the wiring harness was not accidentally plugged into the left-side connector instead of the correct primary right-side connector.

   Check draft pin sensor connectors and wire entry points for moisture or corrosion, which can cause shorts or erratic signals that trick the controller.

   Correct the Connection (If Single Pin)

   If the tractor is a single-pin setup, unplug the sensor from the left-side harness lead and plug it into the correct primary (right-side) harness lead.

   Update Configuration (If Dual Pin)

   If the tractor physically has two draft pins but is throwing this code, the software is configured incorrectly. Use the display or service tool to change the EDC configuration from 'One Draft Pin' to 'Two Draft Pins'.

   Clean and Seal Connectors

   Disconnect the draft pin sensor(s). Use electrical contact cleaner to dry out any moisture inside the connector pins. Apply dielectric grease before reconnecting to prevent future water intrusion.

   Replace the Sensor

   If the harness is routed correctly, the configuration is correct, and the wiring is undamaged, the draft pin sensor itself may have an internal short. Replace the sensor.

   Recalibrate the EDC

   After fixing the configuration or replacing the sensor, you must recalibrate the hitch. (Note: Fixing this code will often immediately trigger Fault Code 1085: 'EDC require calibration').

   Clear Codes

   Clear the inactive fault codes from the ATC module and test the hitch draft control under load to ensure normal operation.
