Case IH 11 – EIC (Electronic Instrument Cluster) / ICU (Instrument Control Unit): Memory Retention Error of Operator Setting for Slip Alarm, Slip Zero Reference Constant, Implement Width and Service Hours

The internal memory of the instrument cluster has failed to retain the specific operator-programmed constants and settings after the machine was powered down.

   Verify battery voltage and ensure the battery disconnect switch (if equipped) is functioning properly, as sudden power loss or poor grounds can trigger memory retention errors.

   Turn the key ON and navigate the instrument cluster menus to check the current values for the slip alarm, slip zero reference, implement width, and service hours.

   Attempt a manual reprogramming of the constants into the instrument panel to see if the memory will hold them.

   Re-programme the Constants

   Using the instrument cluster interface, manually re-enter the operator settings for the Slip Alarm, Slip Zero Reference Constant, Implement Width, and Service Hours.

   Cycle the Power

   Turn the keystart switch to the OFF position. Wait a few moments to allow the system to power down completely.

   Verify Retention

   Turn the keystart switch back to the ON position and re-check the programmed values.

   Evaluate and Replace

   If the values are correct and the code clears, the issue may have been a temporary voltage drop. If the values are not correct or if Error Code 11 persists, the internal memory of the cluster has permanently failed. You must replace the instrument panel.
