Case IH 11010 – Armrest Controller (ARM): Invalid Configuration - Hitch Load Command potentiometer is failed in the Armrest Controller.

The Tractor Data Bus has signaled that the load command potentiometer has failed, and the hitch controller has received this failure signal from the armrest controller. As a result, the hitch load control (draft control) feature is disabled. This is commonly caused by a calibration mismatch or a failed component.

   Verify Tractor Equipment: Determine if the tractor is actually equipped with the hitch load control (draft) feature. If it is not, this code is likely the result of an incorrect calibration rather than a failed part.

   Check Connector J205: On tractors equipped with the load control feature, the load command potentiometer is wired directly to connector J205 in the right-hand armrest. Inspect this connector for loose pins, corrosion, or damaged wiring.

   Check Calibration Status: Verify if the hitch was calibrated for position-only mode while the armrest was accidentally calibrated for draft mode (Code 9319 often accompanies this mismatch).

   Test the Potentiometer: If equipped, test the Hitch Load Command potentiometer for a smooth voltage/resistance sweep. If it reads open or shorted, the component has failed.

   Power down the tractor and disconnect the battery.

   Scenario A: The tractor IS equipped with Draft Control (Hitch Load Command)

   Remove the right-hand armrest console cover panels to access the Armrest Controller.

   Locate the Hitch Load Command potentiometer and trace its wiring to connector J205 on the Armrest Controller.

   Disconnect J205 and inspect the terminals. Clean any corrosion and repair any broken wires.

   If the wiring is intact but the potentiometer tested bad, remove and replace the Hitch Load Command potentiometer.

   Reassemble the armrest, reconnect the battery, and perform the Armrest Controller Calibration to register the new potentiometer.

   Enter the Armrest Controller Calibration menu on the tractor's display.

   Scenario B: The tractor is NOT equipped with Draft Control (Fixing the Invalid Configuration)

   Navigate to the Hitch Menu calibration.

   When prompted for the hitch load command, select "No Draft".

   This tells the armrest controller that the potentiometer is not present, and the hitch will be successfully configured as a "position only" hitch.

    Press the PROG key to save the calibration and record the voltage settings.
