Case IH 11010 – Armrest Controller: Aux 1st remote valve LEVER potentiometer is failed in the Armrest Controller

The potentiometer (sensor) responsible for detecting the physical position of the 1st auxiliary hydraulic remote control lever has failed, is sending an out-of-range voltage signal, or has an open/short circuit. As a result, the controller cannot accurately determine if the operator is commanding the valve to extend, retract, or stay in neutral.

   Check if the 1st remote lever is physically sticking, failing to return to the neutral position, or feeling loose.

   Observe if the remote valve creeps, activates on its own, or if the green cylinder light on the A-post stays illuminated when the lever is in neutral.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors under the armrest console for any loose, corroded, or pinched wires leading to the 1st remote lever.

   Attempt to recalibrate the Electro-Hydraulic Remote (EHR) switches via the A-post display (hold PROG key while turning ignition ON, navigate to ARM, move lever fully back/forward/neutral, turn off key, wait 30 seconds). If calibration fails, the assembly is faulty.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the Armrest

   Remove the screws securing the upper housing/cover of the right-hand armrest console to expose the remote valve control levers.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Locate the 1st remote valve lever assembly and carefully unplug its electrical connector.

   Remove the Lever

   Remove the retaining hardware (screws/nuts) holding the faulty lever assembly to the mounting plate.

   Install New Part

   Seat the new lever/potentiometer assembly into the bracket, secure it with the retaining hardware, and plug in the electrical connector.

   Reassemble

   Reinstall the armrest console cover.

   Mandatory Calibration

   You must calibrate the new lever so the Armrest Controller can learn the new potentiometer's specific voltage limits for extend, retract, and neutral. Use the A-post PROG key method or the Pro700 monitor, depending on your specific tractor model.
