Case IH 11060 – Armrest Controller: Aux 1st remote valve FLOW potentiometer is failed in the Armrest Controller
Issue description
The potentiometer responsible for setting the hydraulic flow rate for the #1 auxiliary remote valve is sending an erratic, out-of-range, or dead signal to the computer. This disables the remote or forces it into a default/safe state.

Check the cause
Live Data Monitoring: Use the tractor's diagnostic display (A-post monitor or Pro 700/1200 display) to monitor the live voltage or percentage of the 1st remote flow potentiometer. Slowly turn the dial and watch for dead spots, erratic jumping, or a signal stuck at 0V or 5V.
Calibration Check: Attempt to recalibrate the armrest hydraulic controls. If the potentiometer is failing, the calibration will usually fail or throw a light.
Wiring & Connector Inspection: Open the armrest console and inspect the wiring harness connecting the flow dial to the armrest controller board. Look for pinched wires, loose connector pins, or corrosion.
Multimeter Test: Disconnect the potentiometer and test its resistance sweep with a multimeter. If the resistance drops out or spikes infinitely while turning the dial, the component is internally damaged.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent shorting sensitive CAN-bus electronics.
Disassemble the Armrest
Remove the retaining screws from the underside or sides of the armrest console to lift off the top cover.
Locate the Component
Locate the 1st remote flow control dial. Note that on many Case IH models, the flow and timer potentiometers are integrated into a single sealed Remote Valve Control Pod or the main Armrest Control Unit board.
Disconnect and Remove
Unplug the electrical connector for the 1st remote dial/pod. Remove the mounting screws or plastic retaining clips holding the potentiometer assembly in the armrest housing.
Install the New Part
Seat the new potentiometer or control pod into the housing and secure it with the retaining screws. Reconnect the wiring harness.
Reassemble
Carefully reinstall the armrest cover, ensuring no wires are pinched.
Recalibrate
Reconnect the battery. Turn the key on and enter the tractor's diagnostic/calibration menu to perform an EHR (Electro-Hydraulic Remote) calibration. The controller must learn the minimum and maximum voltage values of the new potentiometer to function correctly.
