11062

Case IH 11062 – Armrest Controller (ARM / TMF) or Auxiliary Valve Controller (AUX67 or AUX89): 1st remote FLOW potentiometer is failed high.

Issue description

The control module is receiving a signal voltage from the potentiometer (which controls the hydraulic flow rate for the #1 auxiliary remote valve) that exceeds the maximum expected threshold. A "failed high" condition typically indicates an open ground circuit, a short to the reference voltage (power), or an internal failure of the potentiometer itself.

Applies to these machines

  • STX Steiger
  • Case IH Steiger series
  • Case IH Magnum series (including MX / TG series)
  • Case IH Puma series

Check the cause

  1. Visually inspect the armrest console wiring harness leading to the 1st remote flow dial for pinched wires or loose connector pins.

  2. Test the ground wire at the potentiometer connector for an open circuit, which causes the signal voltage to default high.

  3. Check for a short circuit between the signal wire and the 5V/8V reference wire.

  4. Perform a component swap test by swapping the electrical connector with the 2nd remote flow potentiometer. If the code changes to 11072, the potentiometer is faulty; if it remains 11062, the issue is in the wiring or controller.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Access the Console

Remove the retaining screws and carefully lift the cover of the armrest control console to expose the underside of the remote valve control dials.

  3. Disconnect

Locate the 1st remote flow potentiometer and unplug its electrical connector.

  4. Remove the Potentiometer

Loosen the set screw or retaining nut holding the potentiometer to the flow control dial/bracket. Slide the faulty potentiometer out of the assembly.

  5. Install the New Part

Insert the new potentiometer, ensuring the shaft aligns correctly with the dial linkage. Tighten the retaining nut/bracket.

  6. Reconnect

Plug the electrical connector back into the new potentiometer.

  7. Reassemble

Secure the armrest console cover back into place.

  8. Calibrate

Reconnect the battery. Turn the key on, clear the inactive fault codes, and test the remote flow adjustment on the tractor's display monitor to ensure the flow curve adjusts properly without throwing a code.

Parts you might need

Because armrest configurations change between generations, you must verify the exact part number against your specific tractor's serial number in the Case IH parts catalog.
