11092

Case IH 11092 – Remote Valve Controller (AUX67 or AUX89): 2nd remote FLOW potentiometer SENSE is failed high.

Issue description

The controller is receiving a voltage signal from the flow control potentiometer (for the 2nd remote valve in the respective auxiliary block) that exceeds the expected maximum threshold. This typically indicates an open ground circuit, a short to a voltage source, or an internal failure (open circuit) within the potentiometer itself.

Check the cause

  1. Verify the active fault code using the tractor's diagnostic menu (e.g., TRANS DIAG or H Menu) or Electronic Service Tool (EST).

  2. Remove the armrest console cover and inspect the wiring harness leading to the 2nd remote flow potentiometer for broken wires, chafing, or loose pins.

  3. Test the potentiometer with a multimeter to check resistance and voltage. Pay special attention to the ground wire; if the ground is intact but the signal voltage is pegged high, the potentiometer has likely failed internally.

  4. Perform a swap test by temporarily connecting the suspect potentiometer's electrical connector to a known-good flow potentiometer (e.g., 1st or 3rd remote). If the fault code changes location, the potentiometer is faulty. If it remains on the 2nd remote circuit, the issue is in the wiring harness or the Armrest Controller board.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts while working inside the armrest.

  2. Access the Armrest Console

Remove the retaining screws and lift off the upper housing/cover of the right-hand armrest console to expose the remote valve controls and circuit boards.

  3. Remove the Knob

Pull the flow control knob off the shaft of the faulty potentiometer.

  4. Disconnect the Sensor

Unplug the electrical connector from the back of the failed potentiometer.

  5. Remove the Potentiometer

Remove the 3/8-32 mounting nut securing the potentiometer to the mounting plate and pull the component out.

  6. Install the New Part

Insert the new potentiometer into the mounting plate, secure it with the mounting nut, and press the control knob back onto the shaft.

  7. Reassemble

Reconnect the electrical harness, reinstall the armrest console cover, and reconnect the battery.

  8. Clear Codes and Calibrate

Turn the key on, enter the diagnostic menu to clear the inactive 11092 fault code, and perform a remote valve calibration procedure if required by the service manual.
