Case IH 111 – Armrest Controller: Aux 4th remote valve LEVER potentiometer has failed

The controller is receiving an out-of-range signal (either an open circuit, short to ground, or short to power) from the physical lever on the armrest used by the operator to control the 4th rear auxiliary hydraulic remote valve. The system disables the 4th remote to prevent uncommanded hydraulic movement.

   Remove the armrest cover and visually inspect the wiring harness leading to the 4th remote lever for pinched wires, chafing, or loose connector pins.

   Perform a component swap test by swapping the electrical connector of the 4th remote lever potentiometer with the 3rd remote lever potentiometer. If the fault code changes to the 3rd remote (e.g., Code 110 / 11030), the potentiometer itself is internally failed. If the fault code remains 111, the issue is in the armrest wiring harness or the Armrest Controller itself.

   Using a multimeter, verify that the potentiometer is receiving a steady 5V reference and a good ground from the Armrest Controller. Check the signal wire for smooth voltage sweeps as the lever is moved.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent short circuits while working inside the armrest.

   Access the Armrest

   Remove the retaining screws holding the top cover/trim of the right-hand armrest console to expose the SCV (Selective Control Valve) lever assemblies.

   Remove the Faulty Lever

   Locate the 4th remote lever. Disconnect its wiring harness connector.

   Extract the Potentiometer

   Depending on the exact model year, the potentiometer may be held on by small Torx/Phillips screws on the side of the lever pivot, or you may need to replace the entire modular lever assembly. Unbolt the faulty unit and remove it.

   Install the New Part

   Mount the new potentiometer or lever module into the armrest bracket. Reconnect the electrical connector.

   Reassemble

   Reinstall the armrest cover and reconnect the battery.

   Calibration

   You must perform an Armrest / Remote Valve Calibration via the tractor's Pro 700 / AFS display or instrument cluster. This teaches the Armrest Controller the new potentiometer's exact voltage values for the 'Neutral,' 'Full Extend,' 'Full Retract,' and 'Float' positions. If you skip this, the valve will not operate correctly.
