Case IH 11122 – AUX67 / AUX89 / ARM: 2nd remote TIMER potentiometer has failed high

The controller is seeing a voltage signal from the potentiometer that exceeds the maximum expected threshold (usually near 5V). This is almost always caused by an internal short within the potentiometer, a broken or disconnected ground wire (open circuit), or a short-to-power in the signal wire harness.

   Visually inspect the armrest console wiring harness leading to the 2nd remote timer potentiometer for pinched wires, chafing, or disconnected plugs.

   Check the ground circuit to the potentiometer using a multimeter (an open ground is the most common external cause of a failed high code).

   Check the signal wire for a short to the 5V reference or 12V power supply.

   Perform a component isolation swap test: swap the electrical connection of the 2nd remote timer potentiometer with the 1st remote timer potentiometer. If the fault code changes to the 1st remote (e.g., code 11112), the potentiometer itself is internally failed. If the code remains 11122, the issue is in the wiring harness or the armrest circuit board.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the battery disconnect switch to prevent shorting sensitive armrest electronics.

   Disassemble the Armrest

   Remove the retaining screws (often M4.2 x 16 self-tapping screws) to lift the upper cover of the armrest console.

   Remove the Knob

   Pull off the Remote Valve Timer Control Knob (Part # 187820A1) from the top of the console.

   Extract the Potentiometer

   Disconnect the 3-pin electrical connector from the bottom of the faulty potentiometer. Remove the retaining nut holding the potentiometer to the armrest plastic housing.

   Install the New Part

   Insert the new potentiometer, secure the retaining nut, and press the control knob back onto the shaft.

   Reassembly & Calibration

   Reconnect the wiring harness, reassemble the armrest cover, and restore battery power. Clear the inactive fault codes via the tractor's display monitor. Test the remote timer function to ensure the code does not return.
