Case IH 11131 – AUX67 or AUX89: 1st remote TIMER potentiometer SENSE is failed low.

The controller is receiving a voltage signal from the timer potentiometer for the 1st auxiliary remote valve that is below the acceptable minimum threshold (typically near 0 volts). This condition is usually caused by a short to ground in the sensor's signal wire, an open circuit/loss of the 5V reference supply, or an internal failure of the potentiometer itself.

   Visually inspect the armrest console wiring harness leading to the remote valve control pods for pinched wires, chafing, or loose connector pins.

   Disconnect the 1st remote timer potentiometer, turn the key ON, and use a multimeter to verify that the connector is receiving a 5V reference voltage and has a solid ground.

   With the battery disconnected, test the signal (sense) wire for continuity to ground. If there is continuity, the wiring harness is shorted and needs repair.

   Temporarily swap the electrical connector from the 1st remote timer potentiometer with the 2nd remote timer potentiometer. If the fault code changes to the 2nd remote, the potentiometer itself is dead. If the code remains 11131, the issue is in the wiring harness or the controller.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical damage.

   Access the Armrest

   Remove the retaining screws securing the top cover of the Multicontroller armrest to expose the internal SCV (Selective Control Valve) control pods.

   Remove the Control Pod

   Locate the 1st remote timer control knob assembly. Carefully disconnect its electrical harness connector.

   Extract the Potentiometer

   Remove the mounting screws or retaining clips holding the potentiometer in place. (Note: On some newer models, the timer potentiometers are integrated into a larger remote control module block and must be replaced as a single pod).

   Install the New Part

   Seat the new potentiometer or control pod into the armrest and secure it with the retaining hardware.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical harness back into the new sensor.

   Reassemble

   Reinstall the armrest cover and reconnect the battery.

   Calibration

   Turn the key on and use the AFS Pro 700 display (or a dealer diagnostic tool) to clear the stored fault codes. You must then perform an armrest/SCV calibration procedure so the controller can learn the minimum and maximum voltage sweeps of the new potentiometer.
