11132

Case IH 11132 – Auxiliary Valve Controller (AUX67 or AUX89): 1st remote TIMER potentiometer SENSE is failed high.

Issue description

The controller is receiving a voltage signal from the timer adjustment dial (potentiometer) for the 1st hydraulic remote that exceeds the maximum expected threshold. A "failed high" condition typically points to a short to power in the wiring, an open ground circuit, or a complete internal failure of the potentiometer itself.

Applies to these machines

  • STX Steiger
  • Steiger Series (335, 380, 435, 500, 535, Quadtrac)
  • Magnum Series
  • Puma & Maxxum Series

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the armrest control panel for physical damage to the 1st remote timer knob or liquid spills that may have shorted the board.

  2. Access the wiring harness beneath the armrest console and check the connector leading to the 1st remote timer potentiometer for loose pins, corrosion, or damaged wires.

  3. Test the circuit with a multimeter to rule out a short to a 5V/12V power source or a broken ground wire.

  4. Attempt to recalibrate the hydraulic remotes using the tractor's A-post display or Pro monitor (hold the PROG key while turning the ignition ON, navigate to the ARM section, and enter calibration mode). If values jump erratically, the potentiometer has a dead spot.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical damage to the armrest modules.

  2. Disassemble the Armrest

Remove the retaining screws on the armrest console to access the underside of the remote valve control panel.

  3. Remove the Faulty Component

Locate the specific potentiometer for the 1st remote timer. Pull off the external timer control knob. Disconnect the electrical pigtail/connector from the potentiometer. Note: On some newer Steiger/Magnum models, the potentiometers are soldered directly to the armrest circuit board. If you cannot desolder the individual potentiometer, the entire remote control circuit board must be replaced.

  4. Install the New Part

Mount the new potentiometer, secure it with its retaining nut, and press the timer control knob back onto the shaft.

  5. Reassembly

Reconnect the electrical harness, reassemble the armrest housing, and reconnect the battery.

  6. Recalibrate

Turn the key on and perform the EHR (Electronic Hydraulic Remote) calibration procedure via the A-post or armrest display so the controller can learn the new potentiometer's base voltage values.

Parts you might need
