Check the cause

  1. Inspect the HTS Record/Play switch on the Multicontroller armrest to see if the button is physically stuck, mechanically broken, or jammed with dirt and debris.

  2. Lift the armrest console cover and inspect the wiring harness connected to the switch for loose pins, corrosion, or chafed wires that could cause a short to ground or an open circuit.

  3. Disconnect the switch and use a digital multimeter to test for proper continuity across the switch terminals when the button is pressed and released.

  4. Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST), navigate to the Armrest Controller (ACM) configuration, and monitor the live data parameters for the 'MFH-HTS' switch inputs to verify if the controller receives the signal.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.

  2. Access the Switch Panel

Remove the retaining screws or clips securing the right-hand Multicontroller armrest cover/bezel.

  3. Disconnect the Switch

Carefully lift the panel and locate the HTS Record/Play switch. Unplug the electrical connector from the back of the switch.

  4. Remove the Faulty Switch

Depress the plastic retaining tabs on the sides of the switch body and push it upward to pop it out of the armrest console bezel.

  5. Install the New Switch

Snap the new OEM replacement switch into the bezel until it clicks securely into place.

  6. Reassembly

Reconnect the wiring harness to the new switch. Reinstall the armrest cover and secure the screws.

  7. Clear Codes

Reconnect the battery. Turn the key on and use the tractor's onboard diagnostic menu or the EST laptop to clear the ARM 1119 fault code. Test the HTS system to ensure the end-of-row recording functions properly.
