Case IH 12033 – Transmission Control Module / Steering Controller: Fault on encoder impulses sequence

The control module is detecting an incorrect sequence of data, an interruption, or a complete failure of the virtual peripheral encoder (XGATE).

   Inspect the switch connector (XGATE) for physical interruptions, loose wires, or damaged pins that could cause sequence data to drop.

   Check the electronic parking brake relay (X036), the parking brake switch connector (X121), and the parking brake connector (X745) for faults or shorts.

   Verify that the transducer is properly connected to the test point and functioning correctly.

   Ensure there is consistent power to the controller. A disconnected battery or voltage drop can cause the controller to lose its calibration memory, triggering encoder sequence faults.

   Clear Stored Error Codes

   Access the Steering Controller (H8) menu. Use the "HC" menu to erase all stored error codes without erasing calibration information. If a full reset is needed, perform an H8 operation to reset all EEPROM values back to default. Depress and hold the "m" button to confirm the clearing of the memory.

   Proximity Sensor Calibration

   Select the "Pro" option on the display by depressing the "dimming" button. Move the steering wheel to the disengaged position; the display should change to "O xxx". Move the steering wheel to the engaged position; the display should change to "C xxx".

   EPL (Electronic Park Lock) Calibration

   Use the "h" and "m" buttons to calibrate the applied and released positions of the park lock. Hold the "m" button to calibrate the released position until the display shows "M", then release the button. Toggle upwards until the "EPL applied" symbol is displayed to finish the calibration.
