Case IH 12677: Low voltage - disable system functions

Issue description

The system has detected a voltage drop below the required operating threshold, prompting the machine's software to disable certain system functions to protect the electronics or prevent erratic operation.

Applies to these machines

  • Case IH

Check the cause

  1. Test the battery voltage (both resting and under load)

  2. Check the alternator output to ensure it is properly charging the system

  3. Inspect the wiring harness, specifically looking for high resistance on voltage supply lines, missing ignition grounds, or open circuits

Repair steps

  1. Trace low-voltage condition

Trace the low-voltage condition to its source (e.g., repairing damaged wiring, cleaning corroded ground terminals, or replacing a failing battery/alternator) to restore proper voltage and re-enable system functions.
