Case IH 12711 – Cab Suspension Controller or Vehicle Electronic Control Unit (VECU): Pneumatic input — dynamic error of auxiliary input port pressure / suspension
Issue description
The control module is detecting an unexpected, out-of-range, or unstable dynamic pressure reading at the auxiliary input port of the pneumatic suspension system. The pressure is either dropping too fast (a leak), not building up fast enough (blockage or compressor issue), or fluctuating erratically (sensor failure).

Check the cause
Verify that the heavy-duty 12-volt air compressor is functioning and building adequate pressure in the pneumatic tank
Inspect the auxiliary input port, pneumatic lines, and the cab suspension valve block for obvious air leaks, kinks, or pinched lines
Test the pneumatic pressure sensor at the auxiliary input port. Check for a stable 5V reference voltage (5VREF) from the ECU.
Check the wiring harness and connectors between the pressure sensor and the Suspension ECU for continuity, shorts to ground, or corrosion
Use the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to monitor the live pressure readings of the auxiliary port. If the reading jumps erratically while the physical pressure is stable, the sensor is likely at fault.
Repair steps
Depressurize the System
Safely relieve all air pressure from the pneumatic suspension system and air tanks before loosening any fittings.
Access the Valve Block
Locate the semi-active cab suspension (SACS) valve block or front axle suspension manifold.
Replace the Sensor (If Faulty)
Disconnect the electrical harness from the pressure sensor. Unscrew the sensor from the auxiliary port on the valve block. Install the new sensor and tighten to OEM torque specifications.
Repair Pneumatic Lines (If Leaking)
If a line is damaged, cut the line squarely and replace the damaged section using approved DOT air brake tubing and push-to-connect fittings.
Replace the Valve Block (If Internally Failing)
If the valve block is internally bypassing air, disconnect all pneumatic lines and electrical connectors. Unbolt the block from its mounting bracket and install the replacement unit.
Re-pressurize and Calibrate
Turn the key on to allow the compressor to refill the system. Check for leaks using soapy water. Use the CNH EST diagnostic tool to clear fault code 12711 and run the automated cab suspension calibration routine.
