Case IH 12923 – MTA CCM & APH (Cab Control Module & Armrest Panel Hub / Armrest Control Module): Checksum Error for parameter 10
Issue description
An internal memory failure (specifically within the EEPROM or Flash ROM) where the stored calibration or configuration data for 'parameter 10' has become corrupted, invalid, or was lost.
Applies to these machines
7 machines- MAXXUM T4E
- Farmall 40-45-50 CVT
- Farmall 115U
- Maxxum
- Puma
- Magnum
- Steiger
Check the cause
Verify that the battery is fully charged and that system voltage is stable, as low voltage during power-down causes EEPROM write failures
Inspect the wiring harnesses and connectors going to the Cab Control Module and Armrest Module for loose connections, corrosion, or electrical interference
Attempt to clear the fault code using a dealer diagnostic tool and cycle the ignition to see if the code is a hard fault or a transient glitch
Repair steps
Power Cycle & Clear
Ensure the tractor has a fully charged battery. Clear the 12923 fault code and cycle the key.
Software Reflash
If the code returns, the module's software is corrupted. Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) and attempt to reflash/reprogram the CCM/APH module with the latest software update.
Module Replacement
If the module fails to accept the flash, aborts the write process, or the checksum error immediately returns after a successful flash, the affected Cab Control Module or Armrest Control Module must be physically replaced and then calibrated to the tractor.
