Case IH 14 – Transmission ECM: MAIN (C1) GEAR SHIFT SWITCH SIGNAL VOLTAGE SHORT TO 5 OR 12 VOLTS

Fault Code 14 designates a main (C1) gear shift switch signal voltage short to 5 or 12 volts, indicated by an alternating flashing transmission status lamp. The dossier also addresses symptoms of a noisy or failing mechanical PTO, which can be caused by clutch wear, hydraulic pressure loss, or internal component wear.

   For Fault Code 14: If the wiring is intact and the voltage short is verified internally, replace the ECM.

   Secure tractor

   For a noisy/failing mechanical PTO: Disengage the PTO, lower the implement to the ground, and block the wheels securely using chocks.

   For a noisy/failing mechanical PTO: Remove the top link of the third point.

   For a noisy/failing mechanical PTO: Reassemble the gearbox and verify hydraulic pressure restores full lock without slippage.
