Case IH 14008 – ICU (Instrumentation Control Unit): ENGINE oil pressure data is ERROR or NOT AVAILABLE state from GOV.

The instrument cluster or main vehicle controller is not receiving a valid engine oil pressure signal from the engine's control module over the CAN bus network. The data packet is either missing entirely or is being broadcast with an error status.

   Check for companion codes (e.g., 14006, 14009, 14014) using an Electronic Service Tool (EST) to rule out a broader CAN bus communication failure or failed Engine ECM (GOV).

   Inspect the engine oil pressure sensor housing on the engine block for oil leaks.

   Check the electrical pigtail connector at the sensor for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or wire chafing.

   Test the wiring harness between the engine oil pressure sensor and the Engine ECM for continuity, shorts to ground, or shorts to power (if no other CAN bus codes are present).

   Power Down

   Turn off the machine and remove the key. Disconnect the battery ground if you will be repairing wiring.

   Isolate the Fault

   If multiple 'from GOV' codes are active, trace the CAN bus lines (Vehicle Data Bus 1) between the Engine ECM and the ICU. Repair any broken wires or clean corroded bulkhead connectors.

   Sensor Replacement (If Isolated)

   If 14008 is the only active code and the wiring to the ECM tests good, the engine oil pressure sensor has likely failed internally and is sending an out-of-range signal to the ECM.

   Remove the Old Sensor

   Unplug the electrical connector and use a wrench to unthread the faulty oil pressure sensor from the engine block.

   Install the New Sensor

   Thread the new OEM sensor into the port. Do not overtighten. Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Reconnect the battery. Use a DTC eraser or the EST diagnostic tool to clear the stored 14008 fault code from the ICU. Start the engine and verify that the oil pressure data is now displaying correctly on the dash/monitor.
