Case IH 14015 - ICU – ADIC / ICU: 5V supply voltage - too high

This indicates that the 5-volt reference circuit, which is generated by the control module to power various sensors, is reading higher than the expected 5 volts (typically above 5.5V or 6.0V).

   Disconnect the sensors that rely on the 5V reference circuit one by one. Monitor the active fault codes or measure the voltage on the reference line to see if it drops back to 5V, indicating a specific sensor is internally shorting a 12V source to the 5V line.

   Inspect the wiring harness for the 5V reference circuit. Look for chafing, pinched wires, or melted insulation that could cause the 5V wire to short against a 12V power wire.

   Disconnect the main wiring harness from the ADIC/ICU. Turn the key ON and measure the 5V output pin directly at the module to determine if the internal voltage regulator has failed.

   Repair wiring

   If a short to 12V is found in the wiring harness during the diagnostic checks, repair the damaged section of the harness using OEM-approved wire and heat-shrink connectors.

   Replace faulty sensor

   If disconnecting a specific sensor resolved the voltage spike, replace that sensor and clear the fault codes.

   Replace/Repair the ADIC/ICU

   If the ADIC/ICU is outputting >5V with the harness disconnected, the cluster itself is internally faulted. You must replace the Instrument Cluster or send it to a specialized agricultural electronics repair facility for board-level repair.

   Calibration

   If the ADIC/ICU is replaced, the new module will need to be programmed/configured to the tractor's specific options (e.g., tire size, transmission type) using the dealer electronic service tool, and all relevant transmission/hitch calibrations must be performed.
