Case IH 141 – TMF (Tractor Multi-Function Controller) or AUX (Auxiliary Valve Controller): Aux 5th Raise Coil solenoid shorted to 12 volts.

The controller has detected that the electrical circuit supplying the 'Raise' solenoid on the 5th auxiliary remote valve is receiving a constant 12-volt power supply when it shouldn't be. This is typically caused by a wiring harness short (a bare wire touching a 12V power source) or an internal short within the solenoid coil itself.

   Visually inspect the wiring harness running from the TMF/AUX controller to the rear 5th remote valve block for chafed insulation, pinched wires, or melted loom.

   Perform a voltage check: Disconnect the electrical connector at the 5th remote 'Raise' solenoid. Turn the key ON. Check the signal wire for 12 volts while the remote lever is in neutral. If 12V is present, the wiring harness is shorted.

   Perform a coil resistance test: Measure the resistance (Ohms) across the pins of the disconnected solenoid coil. A reading of near 0 Ohms indicates an internally shorted coil.

   Perform a swap test: Swap the 5th 'Raise' solenoid coil with the 4th 'Raise' or 5th 'Lower' coil. If the fault code changes to match the new location, the solenoid is faulty. If it remains 141, the issue is in the harness or controller.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

   Locate the Valve

   Locate the 5th auxiliary remote valve block at the rear of the tractor. Identify the specific solenoid responsible for the 'Raise' function.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical harness connector from the faulty solenoid.

   Remove the Coil

   Remove the retaining nut or bolt at the end of the valve stem that holds the solenoid coil in place.

   Replace

   Slide the old solenoid coil off the proportional valve cartridge. Slide the new OEM replacement coil onto the stem.

   Reassemble

   Install and tighten the retaining nut to the manufacturer's torque spec (do not overtighten, as this can distort the cartridge). Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and use the tractor's monitor or a diagnostic tool to clear the inactive fault codes. Cycle the 5th remote to verify proper operation.

   Harness Repair

   If the harness was the issue, splice in a new section of wire using weather-sealed connectors and re-loom the harness to prevent future chafing.
