Case IH 14102 – Instrument Cluster (ICU / ADIC): SWCD present - not configured
Issue description
The Short Wide Color Display (SWCD) monitor is physically connected to the tractor's CAN bus and is broadcasting a signal, but the tractor's main instrument cluster is programmed to believe that no SWCD is installed. It is a software configuration mismatch.
Applies to these machines
6 machines- MAXXUM T4E
- Puma/Mid Range Magnum
- Case IH Puma series
- Case IH Magnum series
- Case IH Steiger series
- Case IH Maxxum series
Check the cause
Verify physical installation of the SWCD monitor in the cab
Determine if the monitor was recently added (needs cluster update) or removed (cluster needs to be told it is gone)
If no monitor changes were made, inspect the CAN bus wiring and SWCD jumper harness for shorts that might be sending erratic ghost presence signals to the cluster
Repair steps
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.
Enter the Configuration/Calibration mode on the instrument cluster display.
Navigate the menu until the display reads CONFIG ICU.
Use the INCR (Increase) or DECR (Decrease) keys to highlight Controller Config and press the PROG (Program) key.
The display will prompt you to choose between MANUAL and AUTO. Select MANUAL and press PROG.
Toggle through the controller menus until the bottom of the display reads SWCD.
Use the INCR or DECR key to change the setting. Select YES if the monitor is installed, or NO if the monitor has been removed.
Press the PROG key to save the configuration.
Exit the configuration menu and cycle the tractor's key switch off and back on to verify the fault code has cleared.
