Case IH 14110 – Analogue Digital Instrument Cluster (ADIC): Transmission oil pressure configuration mismatch

Issue description

The electronic system has detected that the programmed configuration for the transmission oil pressure monitoring system does not match the physical hardware, sensor inputs, or expected parameters for the tractor's specific transmission type.

Applies to these machines

  • Maxxum
  • Farmall C
  • 85C
  • 95C
  • 105C
  • 115C
  • Farmall U
  • 105U
  • 115U
  • 5120
  • 5130
  • 5140
  • 5150
  • 5220
  • 5230
  • 5240
  • 5250
  • Magnum
  • Puma

Check the cause

  1. Verify ADIC Configuration: Access the ADIC settings using a dealer diagnostic tool to ensure the correct transmission type and sensor options are programmed into the cluster.

  2. Check Fluid Levels: Verify the transmission fluid level and condition, as erratic pressure readings can sometimes trigger pressure-related faults.

  3. Inspect the Sensor and Harness: Check the transmission oil pressure sensor circuit and connections to ensure the physical sensor matches the expected configuration and that the factory wiring harness is securely plugged in without damage.

Repair steps

  1. Access the Sensor

If the ADIC configuration is correct but the hardware is mismatched or faulty, locate the transmission oil pressure sensor. This typically requires removing a small access panel to reach the sensor location on the transmission case.

  2. Remove the Old Sensor

Disconnect the factory wiring harness from the sensor. Unscrew the old sensor from the transmission housing.

  3. Install the New Sensor

Apply a dab of thread sealant to the threads of the new direct-replacement sensor and thread it right into the transmission case.

  4. Reconnect Wiring

Plug the sensor directly into the factory wiring harness (no modifications should be needed if using the correct OEM part).

  5. Reprogram/Clear Codes

If a new ADIC cluster was installed or the configuration was lost, reprogram the ADIC to match the physical transmission. Clear the 14110 fault code and test the tractor to ensure the code does not return.
