Case IH 14119 – Instrument Cluster (INST) or Chassis Control Module (CCM) / Transmission ECU (TECU): RADAR missing
Issue description
The control module is configured to expect a signal from the ground speed radar sensor, but the sensor is not being detected on the network or the signal circuit is open.

Check the cause
Verify Configuration: Check if the tractor is actually physically equipped with a radar sensor. If the tractor does not have radar (or it was removed), the controller configuration is incorrect.
Visual Inspection: Locate the radar sensor (typically mounted under the cab or on the lower chassis facing the ground) and inspect the wiring harness for physical damage, torn wires, or debris interference.
Connector Check: Disconnect the radar sensor and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture ingress, or pushed-out pins.
Voltage & Ground Test: Turn the key to the ON position and use a multimeter to verify that the sensor is receiving proper reference voltage (power) and has a solid ground at the harness connector.
Signal Wire Continuity: Check the continuity of the signal wires from the radar sensor connector back to the Instrument Cluster or CCM to rule out an open circuit in the main harness.
Repair steps
Park the machine on a level surface, turn off the engine, and remove the key.
Scenario A: The sensor has failed (Wiring is intact)
Disconnect the wiring harness from the faulty radar sensor.
Remove the mounting bolts securing the radar sensor to its mounting bracket.
Install the new replacement radar sensor and tighten the mounting hardware.
Reconnect the wiring harness, ensuring the weather-pack or Deutsch connector clicks securely into place.
Perform a radar distance/speed calibration.
After replacing the radar sensor, you must perform a radar distance/speed calibration. Access the diagnostics/calibration menu on your display (e.g., Pro 700 or Pro 1200). The standard procedure requires marking a specific distance (often 328 feet or 400 feet), initiating the calibration on the monitor, and driving the tractor in a straight line across the marked path so the system can learn the new sensor's pulse rate.
If the tractor is not equipped with radar, access the tractor's configuration menu via the display monitor or an electronic service tool.
Scenario B: The tractor does not have a radar sensor. If the tractor is not equipped with radar, the fault is due to a software configuration error.
Navigate to the speed source or radar settings and change the configuration from "Installed" to "Not Installed" (or switch the value to '0').
This will tell the controller to stop looking for the sensor and clear the 14119 code.
