Case IH 14127 – Armrest Controller, Transmission Controller, or Vehicle Control Module (VCM): APM present but not configured

Issue description

The tractor's network recognizes that the APM (Automatic Productivity Management) system is present, but the software configuration is missing or mismatched.

Applies to these machines

  • MAXXUM T4E
  • Optum
  • Puma
  • Magnum
  • Steiger

Check the cause

  1. Check the 'Faults and Warnings' menu on the AFS Pro 700 or Pro 1200 monitor to determine if the code is currently Active or Inactive.

  2. Review recent service history to see if the tractor recently had a software update, a module replacement, or a battery disconnect.

  3. Check CAN bus connections to ensure the wiring harnesses connecting the transmission/APM controllers to the main CAN bus are secure.

Repair steps

  1. Turn the key to the ON position

Allow the AFS Pro monitor to boot up.

  2. Navigate to the 'Faults and Warnings' menu

    Verify the 14127 code.

  3. Access the tractor's configuration/calibration menus

This may require a dealer login or the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) laptop depending on the tractor's software lockout level.

  4. Navigate to the Transmission or Vehicle Setup menu

Locate the APM (Automatic Productivity Management) settings.

  5. Execute the configuration routine

Tell the main controller that the APM module is installed and active.

  6. Return to the 'Faults and Warnings' menu

The 14127 code should now shift from 'Active' to 'Inactive'.

  7. Clear the inactive fault codes from the monitor

Restart the tractor to ensure the code does not return.
