Case IH 14132 – Trailer Brake Module: Pneumatic trailer brake missing

Loss of communication, electrical failure, or pneumatic pressure loss to the trailer's braking system.

   Inspect the tractor's fuse and relay panel. On Case IH Puma models, verify Relay R11 (Pneumatic trailer brake supply) and Relay R12 (Pneumatic trailer braking system supply).

   Check the Trailer Brake Module and modulator valves for air leakage using a soap solution. Leakage should not exceed a 1-inch bubble within 1 minute with the service brakes fully applied.

   Verify the electrical connections and CAN bus communication between the tractor and the trailer brake module. Low or high voltage at the module can disable the electronic braking function and force the system to revert to a pneumatic backup.

   Ensure the machine's hydraulic and pneumatic systems are completely unpressurized before beginning work.

   Remove the pneumatic trailer brake bracket bolt from the top of the valve assembly (1).

   Loosen and remove the top two retaining nuts on the side of the remote valve (2).

   These also retain the trailer brake valve bracket (where fitted).

   Undo and remove the remaining retaining nut at the lower part of the valve slice (3).

   Remove the oil collection bottles.

   Remove the end valve slice (1) to access the internal components or replace the valve.
