14200

Case IH 14200 – ADIC (Analog-Digital Instrument Cluster): EEPROM error

Issue description

The module's microprocessor is unable to read from or write to the EEPROM memory chip, indicating data corruption or a physical hardware failure on the internal circuit board.

Applies to these machines

  • Maxxum
  • Puma series
  • Magnum series
  • Maxxum series
  • Farmall 75C
  • Farmall 90C
  • Farmall 100C
  • Farmall 110C
  • Farmall 115U
  • Farmall 120C

Check the cause

  1. Verify that the tractor's battery voltage is stable. Voltage drops during cranking or voltage spikes from a faulty alternator can cause memory read/write errors.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness connecting to the back of the instrument cluster. Check the 'ADIC MEMORY B+' constant power supply wire and the main instrument signal grounds for loose pins, corrosion, or chafing.

  3. Check for related 5V reference codes (e.g., 14015 or 14016). If present alongside 14200, the cluster may have an internal short circuit.

  4. Perform a hard reset by disconnecting the tractor's negative battery cable for 10–15 minutes to drain residual power. If the code returns immediately upon key-on, the EEPROM chip has suffered a permanent hardware failure.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect battery

Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Remove covers and trim

Remove the steering column covers and the dashboard trim panels surrounding the instrument cluster.

  3. Remove retaining screws

Remove the retaining screws securing the ADIC to the console.

  4. Pull cluster forward

Carefully pull the instrument cluster forward to access the rear wiring.

  5. Disconnect wiring harness

Disconnect the main wiring harness connectors (e.g., CN1) from the back of the cluster.

  6. Install replacement cluster

Connect the wiring harnesses to the replacement instrument cluster and secure it into the console with the retaining screws.

  7. Reinstall trim and covers

Reinstall all dashboard trim and steering column covers.

  8. Reconnect battery

    Reconnect the negative battery cable.

  9. Configure and calibrate

Connect the dealer Electronic Service Tool (EST). A new instrument cluster must be configured to the specific tractor (matching transmission type, tire size, EHR options, etc.) and calibrated.
