Case IH 145 – TRANS (Transmission Controller): Front Suspension lower lock solenoid circuit shorted or open circuit
Issue description
The control module has detected an electrical fault—either a broken wire (open circuit), a short to ground, or a short to power—in the circuit that operates the lower lock solenoid on the front axle suspension manifold. Because of this electrical fault, the controller cannot properly actuate the suspension lock.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness running from the transmission controller to the front suspension control valve manifold for chafed wires, melted insulation, or pinch points.
Disconnect the electrical connector at the lower lock solenoid and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture ingress, or pushed-out terminals.
Use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the solenoid coil pins (an infinite reading indicates an internally open coil, while a reading near zero indicates an internal short).
Check for continuity on the signal and ground wires between the solenoid connector and the transmission controller harness to rule out a broken wire in the chassis harness.
Repair steps
Park the tractor on hard, level ground.
Turn off the engine, apply the parking brake, and remove the key from the key switch.
Put blocks in front of and behind either the front or rear wheels to prevent the machine from rolling.
Relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the suspension system if required by your specific model's service manual.
Locate the front suspension control valve manifold (typically mounted near the front axle cradle).
Disconnect the electrical connector from the lower lock solenoid.
Thoroughly clean the area around the solenoid to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic valve block.
Unscrew and remove the faulty solenoid coil or the entire cartridge valve assembly (depending on whether the coil is sold separately for your specific valve block).
Lubricate the O-rings on the new cartridge valve with clean hydraulic fluid.
Thread the new solenoid/valve into the manifold and tighten to the manufacturer's specified torque.
Reconnect the electrical connector.
Start the tractor, navigate to the Armrest/Transmission diagnostic menu, clear the fault codes, and perform a front suspension calibration to verify the repair.
