Case IH 14905 – ADIC: Keypad missing (JA) (ADIC only)

Communication failure on the tractor's Controller Area Network (CAN) bus. Specifically, the main instrument cluster is no longer receiving data messages from the keypad module.

   Inspect the cab fuse panel for any blown fuses related to the instrument cluster, cab controls, or the ADIC memory power.

   Disconnect the JA Keypad and use a multimeter to verify it is receiving proper 12V power and a solid ground.

   Check the wiring harness and connectors between the Keypad (JA) and the ADIC for corroded pins, backed-out terminals, or chafed wires that could interrupt the CAN High or CAN Low signals.

   Connect a diagnostic tool to check for active CAN bus activity and verify if the central controller can see the JA module.

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.

   Remove the trim panels surrounding the ADIC (instrument cluster) or the specific cab console where the keypad is mounted.

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the back of the Keypad (JA module).

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the back of the Keypad (JA module).

   If the diagnostic checks revealed broken CAN wires or poor power/ground connections, repair the harness and re-test.

   If the wiring is intact and power/ground are present, the Keypad module has suffered an internal failure. Remove the mounting screws/clips and extract the faulty keypad.

   Install the new OEM keypad and reconnect the wiring harness.

   Reconnect the battery, turn the ignition on, and use the diagnostic test switch or a service tool to clear the inactive 14905 fault code from the ADIC memory.
