Case IH 14920 – Steering Controller: Configuration error (ADIC only)

The network configuration is incomplete and was not detected. Specifically, it indicates a mismatch or missing communication on the CAN bus regarding the ADIC (Analog/Digital Instrument Cluster), often noting that the XCM (electronic module) is not detected.

   Use the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to check the CAN bus network configuration to see which modules are currently communicating

   Verify if the XCM module is present on the network and if the ADIC is properly recognized

   Inspect the CAN bus wiring harness and connectors between the Steering Controller and the ADIC for open circuits, short circuits, or corrosion

   Check if the ADIC or Steering Controller recently lost power or requires a software update/calibration

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Perform network scan

   Perform a full network scan to identify missing or misconfigured modules.

   Reconfigure network

   If the network configuration is incomplete, use the EST to reconfigure the network and re-establish communication with the ADIC and Steering Controller.

   Re-flash modules

   If the ADIC or Steering Controller software is corrupted or outdated, re-flash the modules with the latest software version.

   Repair wiring

   If a physical communication failure is found during the wiring inspection, repair or replace the damaged CAN bus wiring harness or connector pins.

   Verify repair

   Clear the fault codes, cycle the key, and verify that code 14920 does not return. If the ADIC hardware has internally failed and will not hold configuration, replace the ADIC.
