Case IH 150 – TMF / AUX: Implement feedback #2 out of range Low

The control module is receiving a voltage signal from the implement feedback #2 sensor (often a hitch position potentiometer or remote valve sensor) that has dropped below the acceptable minimum threshold. This condition typically points to a short to ground in the wiring harness, a disconnected plug, or an internal failure of the sensor itself.

   Inspect the wiring harness and the 3-pin connector at the implement feedback sensor (usually located near the rear 3-point hitch rockshaft or remote valves) for physical damage, corrosion, or pulled pins.

   Disconnect the sensor and turn the key ON. Measure the reference voltage at the harness connector to ensure the sensor is receiving the correct power (typically 5V) from the controller.

   Test the signal wire between the sensor connector and the TMF/AUX controller for an open circuit or a short to ground.

   Measure the resistance across the sensor while manually moving the hitch/implement linkage. The resistance should sweep smoothly; if it drops to zero or reads out of limits, the sensor is internally shorted/failed.

   Safely Prep the Machine

   Park the tractor on a level surface, lower the 3-point hitch and any attached implements to the ground to relieve hydraulic pressure, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery to protect the electronic modules.

   Locate the Sensor

   Locate the Implement Feedback #2 sensor. For most field tractors, this will be the hitch position potentiometer bolted to the rear rockshaft linkage.

   Remove the Faulty Sensor

   Disconnect the 3-pin wiring harness. Unbolt the mounting hardware securing the potentiometer to the linkage.

   Install the New Sensor

   Mount the replacement sensor in the exact orientation as the old one. Tighten the mounting bolts to OEM specifications and reconnect the 3-pin harness.

   Restore Power

   Reconnect the tractor's battery.

   Clear Codes and Calibrate

   Turn the key ON. Use the in-cab monitor or the Case IH EST to clear the inactive fault code 150. You must perform a hitch/implement calibration procedure (as outlined in the specific model's service manual) so the controller can learn the new sensor's minimum and maximum voltage limits.
