Case IH 15024 – Steering Controller or Vehicle Electronic Control Unit (VECU): System not calibrated

The Fast Steer (or Custom Steer) system has lost its calibration values, or a calibration has never been successfully completed.

   Check hydraulic oil temperature to ensure it is at normal operating temperature (above 5°C / 41°F)

   Visually inspect the steering wheel proximity sensors and the steering angle sensor for physical damage or loose connections

   Inspect the wiring harness going to the Fast Steer solenoid valve and its LVDT on the steering block for open circuits or shorts

   Warm Up the Tractor

   Start the engine and operate the hydraulics until the transmission/hydraulic fluid reaches normal operating temperature.

   Enter Calibration Mode

   Access the tractor's calibration menu (often referred to as the 'H Menu' on the instrument cluster or accessed via the ICP keypad, depending on the specific model year).

   Select Steering Calibration

   Navigate to the Fast Steer / Steering Valve calibration sub-menu.

   Perform Lock-to-Lock Sweep

   Follow the on-screen prompts. Turn the steering wheel fully to the left stop, and then fully to the right stop to allow the controller to learn the end-stop voltages of the steering sensors and the travel limits of the LVDT valve.

   Save and Restart

   Once the display indicates the calibration is successful, save the settings and cycle the ignition key (turn off, wait 10 seconds, turn back on).

   Verify Operation

   Engage the Fast Steer switch. The lamp should now remain solid rather than flashing.
