Case IH 152-11 - IMM – IMM: Unexpected CPU reset

The software failed to clear the watchdog counter in time, causing an unexpected CPU reset. This condition can also be triggered if the CPU fails its internal self-test, encounters an EPROM checksum error, or experiences a drop in its 5V power supply.

   Check the voltage supply to the module to ensure it is not dropping below 5V internally

   Ensure the operator is not cutting the battery supply before the module's after-run sequence is completed (irregular switch-offs)

   Inspect module LEDs (if equipped) for a 'WDTIME' (Watchdog Timer) timeout or 'FATL' (Fail) CPU/EPROM error

   Inspect wiring harness

   Inspect and repair any wiring harness issues, focusing on stable power and ground connections to the IMM.

   Delete stored faults

   Delete the stored faults in the failure memory to determine if the error is sporadic (e.g., caused by a temporary voltage drop or battery disconnect).

   Replace IMM module

   If the power supply is stable and the fault persists, it indicates an internal hardware failure (CPU or non-volatile memory access failure). In this case, the IMM module must be replaced.
