Case IH 15204 – Steering Valve Controller (SVC): Steering valve controller failure - Software PSM task failure

Internal software error where the Program Sequence Monitoring (PSM) task within the steering controller has failed, meaning the software is not executing its programmed operational sequence correctly.

   Verify battery voltage to the steering valve controller is within normal operating limits to rule out voltage-induced software glitches

   Ensure the controller is online and communicating properly on the CAN bus, and verify there are no duplicate source addresses

   Check the current software version of the Steering Valve Controller (SVC) and the Steering Redundant Controller (SRC) using the diagnostic tool

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Hook up the Case IH diagnostic tool to the machine and confirm 15204 is the active code.

   Flash/Update Software

   Re-flash or update the Steering Valve Controller (SVC) software to the latest version (e.g., version 2.02).

   Verify Flash Integrity

   Ensure the software flash test and RAM code test pass.

   Hardware Replacement

   If the software update fails, the RAM test fails, or the 15204 code immediately returns after a successful flash, replace the physical Steering Valve Controller.

   Recalibrate

   Reload the Advanced Steering Configuration dataset and perform a steering calibration. Clear all fault codes and test drive.
