Case IH 15207 – Steering Valve Controller (SVC): Steering valve controller has detected a duplicate source address.

The Steering Valve Controller (SVC) has detected another module or node on the tractor's Controller Area Network (CAN) bus that is broadcasting the exact same network source address as itself. This creates a communication conflict, preventing the main controllers from properly identifying, sending commands to, or receiving data from the steering valve.

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the diagnostic port and scan the CAN bus to identify all active modules and check for misconfigured ECUs broadcasting the wrong address.

   Verify the software versions and datasets of the Steering Valve Controller (SVC) and Steering Redundant Controller (SRC) to ensure a recent module replacement or incorrect flash hasn't caused a conflict.

   Inspect the CAN bus wiring harness for shorts between CAN High and CAN Low, or damage that could cause data corruption and misread addresses.

   Disconnect battery power to perform a hard reset of the CAN bus network, which can clear temporary communication or initialization glitches.

   Resolve Configuration Conflicts

   If the EST reveals a software configuration issue, re-flash the Steering Valve Controller (SVC) and Steering Redundant Controller (SRC) with the correct software version and Advanced Steering Configuration dataset for your specific PIN/serial number.

   Locate the Controller

   If the module is internally failed and must be replaced, locate the steering valve controller. On many Case IH models, it is mounted externally near the hydraulic steering valve block under the hood, or near the articulation point on 4WD Steiger models.

   Replace the Module

   Disconnect the electrical harnesses from the faulty Steering Valve Controller and remove it from its mounting bracket. Install the new controller and reconnect the harnesses.

   Program the New Module

   Use the Case IH EST to flash the newly installed controller with the correct software and assign its proper CAN source address.

   Calibrate the Steering System

   After replacement or reprogramming, you must perform an AccuGuide / steering valve calibration. This is typically done through the AFS Pro 700 or Pro 1200 display in the cab to ensure the controller accurately reads the wheel angle sensor and commands the valve correctly.
