Case IH 15208 - AST – AST (Advanced Steering) control subsystem / Steering Valve Controller (SVC): Steering valve controller failure - Software interpolation overflow or underflow or incorrect data.

Internal software calculation error or memory issue within the steering controller. Specifically, the software has attempted a mathematical operation that exceeded its programmed limits (overflow/underflow) or it has received/processed corrupted or incorrect configuration data.

   Check the Fault Stack: Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) and navigate to the AST module (R1 module, menu H3 on some instrument clusters).

   Look for Accompanying Codes: Check if there are other internal software or voltage codes present that might have caused the data corruption, such as 15200/15201 (battery voltage too high/low), 15202 (Software flash test failure), or 15203 (RAM code test failed).

   Verify Software Versions: Check the current software version of the Steering Valve Controller (SVC), the Steering Redundant Controller (SRC), and the Advanced Steering Configuration dataset.

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the Case IH EST diagnostic laptop to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Update software

   Flash/Update the Steering Valve Controller (SVC) and the Steering Redundant Controller (SRC) to the latest OEM software version (e.g., version 2.02 or newer, depending on the exact tractor model).

   Reload dataset

   Reload the Advanced Steering Configuration controller dataset (e.g., dataset version 3.2) to overwrite the "incorrect data" causing the fault.

   Clear codes

   Clear the fault codes and cycle the key.

   Calibrate steering

   Perform the steering system calibration procedure as outlined in the EST.

   Replace controller

   If the controller fails to take the flash, or if the code immediately returns indicating permanent internal memory corruption, the physical Steering Valve Controller hardware must be replaced and reprogrammed.
