Case IH 15251 – Steering Valve Controller (SVC): Incorrect steering valve controller configuration - Fault Detection Algorithm enabled.

This code triggers when the system detects an anomaly in the steering valve controller's configuration or when the wheel angle sensor fails to calibrate properly, prompting the fault detection algorithm to intervene.

   Visually inspect wiring harnesses and connectors at the wheel angle sensor and the steering valve controller for signs of corrosion, moisture ingress, or loose pins.

   Physically inspect the wheel angle sensor pin and linkage to ensure it is properly aligned and not bent, binding, or mechanically damaged.

   Verify that the sensor is receiving the correct reference voltage (typically 5V) and has a solid ground before condemning the sensor.

   Clean Connections

   If corrosion is found during the diagnostic check, thoroughly clean the connectors using electrical contact cleaner and apply dielectric grease to prevent future moisture intrusion.

   Adjust Sensor Pin

   Adjust the alignment of the wheel angle sensor pin to ensure it sits in the correct mechanical center. If the sensor linkage or pin is damaged, replace the sensor assembly or linkage arm.

   Calibrate the Wheel Angle Sensor

   Access the tractor's diagnostic menu (via the AFS Pro display or instrument cluster). Initiate the Wheel Angle Sensor calibration routine.

   Calibrate the Spool Valve

   The electro-hydraulic spool calibration must be performed immediately after the wheel angle sensor. The system will only allow the spool calibration to proceed once the wheel angle sensor calibration has been successfully completed.

   Clear Codes

   Cycle the key power and clear the fault codes to verify that 15251 does not return.
