Case IH 15270 – MTA CCM & APH: Flow command crosscheck between the steering valve main and safety controllers failed

Issue description

Indicates a data mismatch, synchronization issue, or communication failure regarding the hydraulic flow command between the primary steering valve controller and the redundant safety controller.

Applies to these machines

  • Steiger T4B
  • Farmall 40
  • Farmall 45
  • Farmall 50

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the steering valve main controller and the safety controller for shorts, opens, corrosion, or loose pins.

  2. Verify the CAN bus communication lines between the modules.

  3. Check for any secondary voltage or sensor codes (such as wheel angle or vehicle speed sensor crosscheck faults in the 1527X family) that might be triggering the flow command mismatch.

Repair steps

  1. Repair or replace wiring

Repair or replace any damaged wiring harnesses between the steering valve and the safety controller.

  2. Update software

Verify the software versions on the CCM/APH and update/re-flash them if a software patch is available to resolve the crosscheck sensitivity.

  3. Replace controller

Replace the steering valve or safety controller if the crosscheck failure is determined to be caused by an internal hardware fault.
