Case IH 15275 - AST – Steering Valve Controller (SVC): Incorrect steering valve controller configuration - Auxiliary steering device enabled

A software configuration mismatch where the steering valve controller is programmed to expect an auxiliary steering device, but the system configuration or physical hardware does not match this setting.

   Physically check if the tractor is actually equipped with an auxiliary steering device.

   Look for accompanying crosscheck failure codes between the steering valve main and safety controllers (e.g., 15276, 15277, 15278, 15279), which can indicate a CAN bus communication issue rather than just a configuration error.

   Use the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to read the current configuration dataset of the Steering Valve Controller to see if the 'Auxiliary steering device' flag is incorrectly set to 'Enabled'.

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Navigate to configuration menu

   Navigate to the Steering Valve Controller (SVC) module programming/configuration menu.

   Review settings

   Review the vehicle configuration settings.

   Update configuration

   If the tractor does not have an auxiliary steering device installed, change the configuration setting from 'Enabled' to 'Disabled'.

   Verify wiring

   If the tractor does have an auxiliary steering device, verify the CAN bus wiring and connections to the device, as the controller may be losing communication with it.

   Save changes

   Save the configuration changes.

   Clear codes

   Clear the fault codes.

   Perform key cycle

   Perform a key cycle (turn the tractor off, wait for the controllers to power down, and turn it back on) to ensure the code 15275 does not return during the boot-up sequence.
