Case IH 15276 – MTA CCM and APH: Steering device/program crosscheck between the steering valve main and safety controllers failed.

This indicates a synchronization, communication, or internal logic failure between the main controller and the redundant safety controller housed within the electronic steering valve assembly.

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to view the 'Service only' fault logs and confirm if code 15276 is active or stored

   Verify that the CAN bus lines running to the steering valve module are intact

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors at the steering valve for corrosion, moisture ingress, or backed-out pins, which can cause voltage drops that disrupt synchronization

   Check if there is a software update available for the CCM or the steering valve controller, as a re-flash may resolve logic crosscheck errors

   Depressurize the System

   Turn off the tractor and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the steering circuit.

   Disconnect Electrical Connections

   Unplug the main harness from the steering valve module.

   Remove Hydraulic Lines

   Mark and cap all hydraulic lines connected to the steering valve to prevent contamination.

   Remove the Valve

   Unbolt the steering valve/module assembly from its mounting bracket.

   Install the New Valve

   Mount the replacement steering valve and reconnect the hydraulic lines to their proper ports.

   Reconnect Wiring

   Plug the electrical harness back into the new module.

   Bleed the System

   Start the tractor and slowly turn the steering wheel lock-to-lock several times to bleed air from the hydraulic steering circuit.

   Calibrate via EST

   Connect the Electronic Service Tool and perform the steering valve calibration procedure to synchronize the new main and safety controllers with the tractor's CCM. Clear the 15276 fault code.
