Case IH 15287 - AST – AST (Advanced Steering / Auto Guidance) control subsystem / Steering Valve Controller: Incorrect steering valve controller configuration - Hydraulic configuration

The electronic controller integrated with or managing the steering valve does not have the correct hydraulic configuration parameters programmed into its memory, or the configuration data is missing/corrupted.

   Enter Diagnostic Mode: Use the switches on the instrument cluster to navigate the 'H' menus.

   Access the AST Subsystem: Navigate to the R1 module, select menu H3, and select the AST system. Press the dimming key to accept the menu selection.

   Read the Display: The lower LCD section of the display will show the current configuration status (e.g., 'ch - - ').

   Verify Related Codes: Check if related configuration checksum or calibration faults are present (such as 15288 for Hydraulic configuration checksum, or 15291/15292 for Valve calibration errors).

   Access controller

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) or use the onboard instrument cluster diagnostic menus (R1 > H3) to access the AST steering valve controller.

   Reload configuration

   Reload or correct the hydraulic configuration parameters specific to the tractor's exact model and hydraulic setup.

   Calibrate steering valve

   Perform a steering valve calibration procedure to ensure the controller learns the correct hydraulic flow and deadband parameters.

   Clear codes

   Clear the fault codes and cycle the key power.

   Replace steering valve assembly

   If the controller fails to accept the configuration, drops the configuration upon reboot, or throws a checksum error (like 15288), the internal memory of the steering valve controller has failed, and the steering valve/controller assembly must be replaced.
