Case IH 15297 – Steering Valve Controller (SVC): Incorrect steering valve controller configuration - Peripherals configuration

The controller managing the electrohydraulic steering system has detected a mismatch, corruption, or missing data in its configuration dataset regarding the connected peripheral devices.

   Check for accompanying fault codes (e.g., 15291-15296 or 15298) that might pinpoint the exact peripheral or calibration failure

   Inspect the physical wiring harness and connections between the SVC and the steering angle sensor

3. 3

   Verify the cab's roading switch is functioning correctly to toggle between on-road and off-road modes

   Use the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to verify the current software version and configuration dataset on the SVC

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the tractor's diagnostic port.

   Navigate to module

   Navigate to the Steering Valve Controller (SVC) module.

   Re-flash / Update Configuration

   Reload the correct configuration dataset and software for the SVC to resolve the peripheral mismatch.

   Perform Calibrations

   Once the configuration is successfully loaded, perform a complete steering system calibration. This includes the CAN wheel angle sensor calibration and the steering valve calibration.

   Clear fault codes

   Clear the fault codes.

   Test drive

   Test drive the tractor. Engage the lower portion of the roading switch to enable off-road electrohydraulic steering and verify that autoguidance/advanced steering functions properly without throwing the code.

   Replace controller

   If the module refuses to accept the configuration or the internal memory is corrupted, the physical steering valve controller (which is often integrated into the electrohydraulic steering valve assembly) must be replaced.
