Case IH 15300 - AST – AST (Advanced Steering Technology) / Steering Valve Controller (SVC): Incorrect steering valve controller configuration - Protocol configuration

A software configuration mismatch or an incorrect protocol dataset loaded into the steering valve controller, preventing the auto-guidance/steering system from operating correctly.

   Access the diagnostic mode via the instrument cluster 'H' menus (navigate to R1 module, menu H3, AST system) to view active subsystem codes.

   Verify the software version of the Steering Valve Controller (SVC) and the Advanced Steering Configuration controller dataset.

   Check for accompanying AST configuration checksum faults (such as 15299, 15301, 15302, or 15303) which point to internal monitoring, vehicle geometry, or GPS configuration mismatches.

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Update software and dataset

   Re-flash or update the Steering Valve Controller (SVC) with the correct software payload and Advanced Steering Configuration dataset for the specific tractor model.

   Perform AST calibration

   Once the correct protocol configuration is loaded, perform a full AccuGuide / AST calibration. This includes the steering valve calibration, wheel rotational angle sensor calibration, and steering wheel position sensor calibration.

   Perform roll calibration

   Perform a roll calibration on the Case IH Pro 700 / AFS display to ensure the guidance system is perfectly aligned.

   Clear codes and test

   Clear the fault codes and test the auto-steering system. If the controller repeatedly drops its configuration or throws internal software interpolation errors (e.g., 15208-15212), the physical steering valve controller/assembly must be replaced.
