Case IH 15303 – Steering Valve Controller (SVC) / Advanced Steering Configuration controller: Incorrect steering valve controller configuration - Vehicle geometry configuration

The steering valve controller has an incorrect, missing, or corrupted configuration dataset regarding the physical geometry of the vehicle (which typically includes parameters like wheelbase, track width, and steering angle limits).

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the diagnostic connector

   Check for related configuration fault codes in the SVC, such as 15304 (checksum error), 15305/15306 (GPS configuration), or 15307 (Steering wheel configuration)

   Verify the current vehicle geometry parameters stored in the Steering Valve Controller to see if they are missing or incorrect for the specific tractor model

   Check the software version of the Steering Valve Controller (e.g., version 2.02) to ensure it is up to date and not experiencing a software initialization failure

   Connect EST

   Connect the EST to the tractor's diagnostic port.

   Navigate to SVC configuration

   Navigate to the Steering Valve Controller (SVC) configuration menu.

   Input configuration dataset

   Input or reload the correct vehicle geometry configuration dataset for the specific machine.

   Save configuration

   Save the configuration to resolve any checksum errors.

   Re-flash SVC software

   If the controller will not accept or hold the configuration, re-flash the SVC software using the EST.

   Cycle ignition and re-scan

   Cycle the ignition key off and back on, then re-scan the system to verify fault code 15303 has changed from active to inactive.

   Replace Steering Valve Controller

   If the controller suffers a hard internal failure and cannot be re-flashed, replace the Steering Valve Controller hardware and program it with the correct dataset.
