Case IH 15306 – Steering Valve Controller (SVC): Incorrect steering valve controller configuration - GPS configuration

This code indicates that the configuration dataset or calibration values stored in the steering system for the GPS/auto-guidance setup are invalid, missing, or mismatched.

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) and ensure proper voltage and communication on the Main Bus (Pin C – CAN 1 HI, Pin D – CAN 1 LO).

   Verify the software version of the Steering Valve Controller and the Advanced Steering Configuration dataset.

   Look for accompanying configuration fault codes (such as 15305, 15307, or 15311) that might indicate a broader controller failure.

   Secure the Machine

   Park the tractor on a flat, open surface. Ensure the handbrake is applied and the shuttle lever is in the park position.

   Reconfigure the Controller

   Using the EST, navigate to the Steering Valve Controller configuration menu. Reload the correct Advanced Steering Configuration dataset for the specific tractor's GPS setup.

   Perform Auto-Calibration

   Enter the H1 diagnostic menu via the ADIC (selecting the EPL/XA sub-menu). Initiate the steering valve calibration procedure (the display will show "CAL").

   Verify and Clear

   Once the configuration is successfully written and calibrated, clear the fault codes. Test the GPS auto-guidance system to ensure code 15306 does not return.

   Replace if Necessary

   If the Steering Valve Controller fails to accept the configuration dataset, fails the checksum verification, or has an internal hardware fault, the steering valve/controller assembly must be replaced.
